The Development section lists the currently announced next Swift version and latest Xcode beta that includes that version. The problem is that now when I start Visual Studio it keeps showing a message saying that Xcode is not currently installed or could not be found. Swift versions link to the Swift Evolution status page, filtered to show the proposals implemented in that version. I recently updated VS for mac to the latest version 8.9 (build 1651) and also Xcode to v12.4 (12D4e). Version history includes only Swift versions with a corresponding Xcode release. The version of Swift listed as Development is the next ‘feature release’īecause Swift releases are commonly referred to by the major + minor version number as a ‘release’, the listed Current and Development versions typically do not include patch releases. The version of Swift listed as Current is the version included in the most current released version of Xcode.
